Beach Happy is seeking a fast, creative, and highly self-directed Shooter/Editor to help drive the day-to-day production of social-first content across Beach Happy locations, road tours, events, activations, partnerships, and brand experiences.
The Shooter/Editor is more than the person behind the camera. This position must be able to recognize a great moment without waiting for someone to point it out, capture it in a real-world environment, make strong editorial decisions, and turn raw footage into finished content quickly.
Beach Happy content is energetic, authentic, and intentionally less polished than traditional commercial production. The ideal candidate understands that speed and instinct matter. They can work independently in the field, collaborate naturally with on-camera personalities, and maintain the organization and production discipline necessary to keep a high-volume content operation moving.

Essential Responsibilities
- Field Production & Content Capture: Shoot social-first content using mobile and mirrorless cameras across beaches, businesses, venues, events, road trips, interviews, activations, and other Beach Happy experiences. Capture strong visuals and clean, usable audio in busy and uncontrolled environments.
- Editing & Same-Day Content: Edit short-form vertical content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and other digital platforms using CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or comparable software. Work efficiently within a fast-turn production environment where content may need to move from capture to finished piece the same day.
- Editorial Instinct & Storytelling: Independently recognize the strongest, funniest, most interesting, or most human moments from a shoot rather than relying entirely on assigned selects or step-by-step direction. Understand when an unexpected moment is more valuable than the originally planned shot.
- Visual Identity & Content Standards: Help maintain a recognizable Beach Happy visual style across content while preserving the authentic, personality-driven, intentionally unpolished feel of the brand. Understand when content is finished and ready to ship without overproducing it.
- Road & Field Production: Support Beach Happy road production throughout the Gulf Coast and on periodic multi-day shoots. Work efficiently in changing locations and outdoor environments while managing cameras, audio equipment, batteries, media, file transfers, and other production needs in the field.
- Events, Activations & Partnerships: Capture Beach Happy events, partner experiences, destination features, live activations, and other company initiatives. Anticipate important moments and ensure the team leaves each production with enough quality material to support immediate and future content.
- Content Library & Clip Development: Organize, label, archive, and maintain footage and production assets so content can be easily located and reused. Revisit existing footage to identify additional clips, moments, and stories that can extend the value of each shoot and maintain a healthy pipeline of publishable content.
- Publishing & Distribution Support: Prepare platform-specific versions of finished content and support uploading, publishing, and distribution as needed. Understand the differences between platforms and adjust framing, length, pacing, captions, and other elements accordingly.
- Host & Team Collaboration: Work closely with Road Hosts and the Executive Producer to execute the production slate. Help Hosts improve framing, audio, self-shooting, and content capture while remaining flexible enough to cover missing angles or production needs as they arise.
- Production Equipment & Organization: Maintain cameras, audio equipment, production gear, storage, and organized file-transfer workflows. Ensure footage is properly transferred and labeled so production does not slow down because of missing files, disorganized assets, or equipment issues.
- On-Camera Flexibility: Be willing to occasionally step in front of the camera when a moment or format benefits from it. Beach Happy operates as a lean production team, and every content team member should be comfortable contributing beyond a narrowly defined production lane.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional or demonstrated experience shooting and editing short-form, social-first content.
- Must be able to independently shoot AND edit. Both capabilities are required for this position.
- Strong proficiency with CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or comparable fast-turn editing software.
- Experience independently operating mobile and mirrorless cameras and capturing quality audio in field environments.
- Strong editorial instincts with the ability to recognize compelling moments and make creative decisions without constant direction.
- Working knowledge of TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and platform-native content requirements.
- Ability to work quickly without overproducing content or allowing perfection to interfere with publishing speed.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage large volumes of footage, files, archives, and production assets.
- Comfortable working outdoors, carrying production equipment, traveling, and working in active event and hospitality environments.
- Must be available for periodic travel, evenings, weekends, events, and multi-day production schedules.
- Must live on the Gulf Coast or be willing to relocate.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Experience with creator content, podcasts, sports, hospitality, tourism, live events, documentary-style field production, or still photography is preferred.
