Position Overview:

Flora-Bama Marina is seeking a motivated and experienced Seasonal Assistant Marina Manager to support day-to-day operations during our peak season. This leadership role is ideal for someone with a strong background in boating, customer service, and administrative tasks who thrives in a fast-paced, waterfront environment.

The Assistant Manager will work closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth operations across dock, rental, and office activities. This hands-on position requires a confident leader who is comfortable on the water, in the office, and interacting with guests and staff.


Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Boating

  • Assist in managing daily marina operations including rentals, private charters, and guest services
  • Confidently operate, dock, and trailer a variety of vessels (pontoons, jet skis)
  • Train and supervise dockhands and office staff in safety protocols and customer service standards
  • Conduct vessel checks, safety briefings, and ensure proper use and maintenance of rental fleet
  • Coordinate launching, retrieval, and fueling of vessels

Customer Service

  • Act as a front-line representative of Flora-Bama Marina, providing an exceptional guest experience
  • Resolve customer issues and questions professionally and efficiently
  • Maintain a strong presence on the dock and in the office to support both staff and guests

Administrative Duties

  • Assist with scheduling, shift oversight, and daily reporting
  • Manage rental bookings, process payments, and maintain digital records
  • Monitor inventory and supplies; communicate needs to General Manager
  • Help manage online platforms, reservation software, and phone/email inquiries
  • Support compliance with safety regulations, waivers, and marina policies
     


Qualifications:

  • Proven boating experience including trailering, docking, and navigating vessels
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong customer service background, ideally in marina, tourism, or hospitality industries
  • Competent in office software (Google Workspace, Excel, POS/reservation systems)
  • Must be organized, proactive, and able to multitask under pressure
  • Comfortable working in outdoor conditions for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with physical dock duties as needed


Schedule & Compensation:

  • Seasonal position: June through September
  • Full-time hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Competitive hourly wage or weekly salary based on experience
